Health Benefits of GrapesGrapes are rich in antioxidants including polyphenols. These polyphenols may help support healthy blood vessels and arteries. Studies and clinical trials have shown that grapes may help improve blood pressure, platelet function, and other factors that may contribute to cardiovascular health.Grapes & Grape Seed Extract Information:For more information on grapes & grape seed extract, please visit our Grapes & Grape Seed page.Benefits of Concord GrapesFor more information on Concord grapes, visit: heart-healthy-foods.htmlConcord Grape CobblerGrape cobbler that is plant-based and sweetened naturally with the grapes, along with added honey.Recipe Ingredients:2 cups seedless Concord grapes1 cup flour 1½ teaspoon baking powder 1 cup almond milk (or plant-based milk of choice) ¾ cup grape seed oil 1 teaspoon vanilla Juice of ½ lime or lemon or 2 tablespoons lemon juice ¼ cup honey Recipe Instructions:Preheat oven to 350F. Wash grapes in water and set aside.In a medium bowl, add flour and baking powder. In a medium to small bowl add almond milk (or plant-based milk of choice), oil, vanilla, and lime juice. Whisk the liquid mixture well. Add the liquid mixture to the flour mixture until well combined. In a 9” x 13” baking dish, lightly greased with grape seed oil, add the flour mixture. Next, evenly top the flour mixture with the grapes. Drizzle the honey over top. Place in preheated oven for approximately 30 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with favorite frozen dessert or try the frozen yogurt below.
Grape JamNaturally sweetened grape jam flavored with honey and lemon, if desired.Recipe Ingredients:3 cups fresh, seedless grapes¼ cup honey (optional) 2 tablespoons lemon juice (optional) Recipe Instructions:Cut each grape in half and place grapes in a medium sauce pan. Gently heat grapes over medium heat. Cover and simmer until grapes are soft, for approximately 20 minutes.Remove grapes from stove. With a potato masher or spoon, squash grapes into jam consistency. Place sauce pan back on stove and simmer for approximately 10 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool. Place jam in glass jars.
Frozen Grape YogurtThe deep, rich flavor of the Concord grapes comes out in this healthy, three-ingredient, frozen yogurt dessert.Recipe Ingredients:1 pound Concord grapes2 cups Greek yogurt 2 tablespoons honey Recipe Instructions:Remove the grapes from stems and rinse in water.Place grapes in food processor and purée until smooth. Next, work purée through a mesh strainer to remove skins and seeds. Place purée back in food processor and add yogurt, along with the honey. Blend the yogurt and honey in until smooth. Spread the yogurt purée mixture into a loaf pan, cover, and freeze for at least 2 hours, or until firm enough to scoop - preferably overnight.
